Effectively managing your RV's availability is essential for maximizing rental opportunities and providing a seamless experience for both you and your potential guests. The offered calendar tools can simplify the process of managing your availability. Below, you'll find an overview of the main tools, their features and benefits, and recommendations for optimizing your calendar.
How to Edit Your RV’s Availability
You can access your calendar availability tools from your calendar page. On the App or mobile web, the tools are accessible by tapping on the gear symbol. On the desktop, they are displayed on the right side of the screen.
Note: If you have more than one RV listed, you have to update each of their availability individually by selecting the RV on the calendar page.

Rental Season
Setting a rental season for your RV is a strategic way to manage its availability and ensure guests can only book within your specified timeframe. This feature allows you to establish a general period during which your RV is available for rent, preventing bookings outside this date range, which is marked in striped grey in your calendar. The rental season must be at least 30 days long and will automatically renew each year, though you can adjust it at any time to suit your needs.
Examples on how to use the Rental Season:
- Winter Storage: If you winterize or store your RV annually from November to April, set your rental season from May to October to accommodate this downtime.
- Snowbirding: For those who use their RV for snowbirding from November to May, a rental season from June to October ensures availability during the off-season.
- Year-Round Availability: In areas with favorable weather year-round, you might opt for an "Available all year round" setting. However, if you typically use your RV annually in June, for example, you can set your rental season from July to May to reflect your personal use.
Preperation Time
Setting a Preparation Time is an effective way to ensure your RV is ready for each guest. This feature allows you to specify the time needed before and/or after each rental for cleaning and preparation. By incorporating buffer time between bookings, you can avoid the stress of back-to-back rentals and ensure a smooth transition for you and your guests.
Once the preparation time is set, it will show as a yellow blocked date(s) before and/or after your bookings.
Recommendations:
- Choose a preparation time that aligns with your cleaning and maintenance needs.
- Adding more than one night before and/or after each booking may limit your calendar availability.
Note: Preparation time does not apply to bookings imported from other platforms. You will need to set a preparation time by blocking those days manually.
Advance Notice
This setting enables you to specify the minimum lead time required between a booking request and the start date of the trip, helping you avoid last-minute bookings that you cannot accommodate.
Using Advance Notice:
- Selecting “..at least 2 days” means guests can only book trips that begin at least 2 days from the current date.
- To maximize your revenue and keep your calendar full, consider choosing the shortest available option. This approach allows you to capitalize on last-minute bookings, particularly during peak seasons.
- Once applied, the blocked dates due to Advance notice will be marked in striped grey.
Notes:
- The available options may vary depending on the RV type and where it is registered.
- For RVs registered in the State of New York, a mandatory 7-day notice period is set as per Insurance requirements in that State.
Availability Window
This tool helps you set how far into the future your calendar is available for guests to book your RV. It is especially useful if you are uncertain about your future plans or your RV availability.
Using the Availability Window:
- We recommend setting the window to 12 months, enabling guests to book trips up to a year in advance from the current date.
- Opting for a shorter timeframe might cause you to miss out on bookings from guests who plan their vacations early. For instance, if someone views your listing in October, they should be able to book a trip for the following August.
- Always adjust your availability window throughout the year to align with booking trends and maximize your rental opportunities.
- Once applied, the blocked dates due to the Availability Window will be marked in striped grey.
Available Days
This tool lets you specify the days when you are available for RV delivery, pick-up, or drop-off, providing guests with clear information on when they can start or end their trips. Guests can only begin or conclude their trips based on the days you have set as available.
Using Available Days:
- If you are unavailable from Tuesdays to Thursdays due to other commitments, you can set your available days from Friday to Monday. This means guests cannot choose Tuesdays, Wednesdays, or Thursdays as the start or end of their trip, although these days can be part of a trip that spans from Monday to Friday.
- Always communicate any changes in your availability to guests promptly to prevent any confusion and ensure a smooth booking experience.
Pick-up & Drop-off Times
This setting allows you to define specific time frames for RV pick-up and drop-off, including delivery. These times will be clearly displayed on your listing page and in the booking details once a guest reserves your RV.
Recommendations:
- Consider using hotel check-in and check-out times as a guideline, such as scheduling pick-up between 3-6 PM and drop-off between 8 AM-noon.
- If you have flexible availability, you can offer a flexible option, allowing pick-up or drop-off at any time in the morning and/or evening.
- For custom times outside the standard options, you can arrange an alternative schedule by making a written agreement with the guest through the RVezy chat.
Minimum nights
This tool allows you to set the minimum number of nights required for bookings, ensuring that each reservation is worthwhile for you.
Considerations:
- Setting a minimum of more than 2 nights might restrict bookings for shorter trips. For example, if you choose a minimum of 5 nights, guests can only send you a booking request for 5 nights or longer.
- Carefully consider your target market and typical guest preferences when setting this requirement to balance between maximizing occupancy and accommodating shorter stays.
By effectively managing these availability settings, you can enhance your RV rental experience, ensuring a smooth and enjoyable process for both you and your guests. Regularly adjust these settings to align with your personal schedule and rental objectives, maximizing both convenience and profitability.
