As an RV host, we know you're always looking for ways to make the rental experience more enjoyable and convenient for your guests. One of the best ways to achieve this is by offering RV delivery services to your guests. Let's dive into the details and discover how delivery can enhance your hosting experience!
Why delivery?
Delivery has become increasingly popular among both guests and hosts for the unmatched convenience, safety, and control that it provides. It's especially popular for towable RVs such as travel trailers and fifth wheels. Offering this service can make your listing more attractive to guests who who can't or prefer not to tow your RV. By providing delivery, you're expanding your potential guest pool by 40% and maximizing your number of bookings.
Customizing delivery
Adding delivery to your listing is a breeze! Head over to the Pricing section of your listing and toggle the delivery option on to get started.
The delivery fee is calculated based on the one-way* distance between your RV's location and the guest's desired delivery destination. You can customize three options:
- Max delivery distance (one-way): Set the maximum distance you're willing to deliver. Guests won't be able to select delivery if their destination exceeds this distance.
- Price per kilometre/mile: Choose the amount you'd like to charge per kilometre or mile. Hosts in the US should consider a range of $3 to $4 per mile, while hosts in Canada should consider a range of $1.50 to $2.50 per kilometre. This pricing will help maximize your rental potential, as 80% of guests are only willing to pay between $200 and $400 for delivery.
- Minimum delivery fee: Specify the minimum delivery fee you want to be paid for each delivery, regardless of distance. The system will default to the highest of the price per kilometre/mile or the minimum fee.
*This does not mean that the guest will be charged the delivery fee twice, or that the host only has to deliver the unit once at the start of the trip. The delivery fee includes delivering and setting up the unit at the start of the trip as well as picking up the unit at the end of the trip.
You can also provide optional delivery details, which could include your delivery availabilities or any restrictions/requirements the guest should be aware of.
You can make delivery a mandatory part of your rental offering by choosing the Delivery only setting.
Delivery calculations and benefits
When guests choose delivery for their bookings, they'll enter their destination while sending you a booking request. The delivery fee will be calculated automatically and added to the booking total.
You'll be able to see the delivery fee in your payout details and the delivery destination in the details of the booking. Note that the delivery fee itself is only subject to a 5% service fee.
If changes to delivery need to be made after a booking has already been confirmed, the guest will be able to request the change through our Edit Booking feature.
