It is the responsibility of the owner and the renter to coordinate the drop off time and location, as both need to be present in order to verify the state of the RV and sign on the return checklist. The owner should have the checklist on hand, whether it is the printed or electronic version, and should complete the checklist with the renter in order to determine if additional charges are necessary.
The return checklist is mandatory during the return of the RV, as any extra charges that might be added such as mileage, propane usage, late fees, damages etc. as well as the submission of a claim or dispute, will be based on the information provided.
Completing the checklist and walk-around of the RV is equally the owners responsibility as much as it is the renters. Documenting the condition of the RV is important, as it can be used to protect yourself in the event of a dispute or claim.
After filling out the checklist, the owner will go ahead and closeout the booking on the website, and if there are additional charges, they will be applied there.
Once the owner closes the booking on the website, the renter will be prompted to do the same and verify the closeout charges if applicable.
After the renter closes the booking on the website, the security deposit will automatically be refunded (minus any closeout charges if applicable).
If the renter disagrees with any additional charge, they can at this step open a dispute to reach out to our resolution team.
If the owner adds damage charges over the security deposit, they will be prompted to open an insurance claim, and we will be contacting both the owner and the renter to get more details.
