First, the renter will need to contact the owner to inform them of the situation. If troubleshooting with the owner doesn’t work, then the renter will need to get the RV off the road and to a safe location or a garage.
If the renter has selected the RVezy roadside, they can call Access Roadside at 1-866-227 2213 to have the RV towed to the nearest garage where a technician will determine the cause of the breakdown and a timeline for the repairs.
In case the renter did not select RVezy roadside, they will still need to have the RV towed at their own expense to a garage. (Fees associated with the tow will not be refunded by RVezy or the owner).
The renter is responsible for the safe return of the RV to the owner - as per section 4.4 of the Terms of Service - therefore, they are expected to wait a reasonable amount of time for any repairs to be completed whether RVezy roadside assistance was selected or not . A “reasonable” amount of time depends on the length of the booking as well as the renter’s plans. Generally, renters are expected to wait at least 48 hours for repairs but this period of time might be longer or shorter depending on the specific booking.
If repairs take too long, or if the renter absolutely needs to leave the RV then RVezy might allow them to do so under certain conditions:
- The repairs take longer than the booking itself
- The renter will be responsible for his own transportation back.
- The owner will be responsible to pay for the repairs as well as to collect his RV.
- The owner will reimburse the renter for the unused dates as per section 4.3 of the Terms of Service
- If the breakdown was NOT caused by the renter, we might allow the renter to leave under certain conditions.
- If the breakdown was caused by the renter, we might allow the renter to leave under certain conditions.
- The renter will be responsible for his own transportation back.
- The renter will be responsible for the repairs expenses as well as the costs incurred by the owner to collect his RV.
- The renter will not be reimbursed for the unused dates.
- The repairs take long and occur in the middle of a renter’s trip:
We might allow the renter to leave under certain conditions:
- The renter could find a replacement vehicle to continue his trip, then at the end of the booking period return the replacement vehicle. Depending on the cause of the breakdown, the renter might be liable to collect the now repaired RV and bring it back to the Owner.
- If the renter is unable to collect the repaired RV on the way back, the conditions mentioned above-about returning the RV based on the breakdown cause-will apply.
In all cases, if the renter selected RVezy roadside assistance, as per section 5.2 of the Terms of Service they will be entitled to benefit from the services mentioned on the below link:
