If a third party hits the RV and damage is sustained to either the RV or the third party’s property a claim must be opened upon closeout, no matter the repair cost.
If an RV is involved in a collision caused by a third party, the renter must inform the owner, file a police report (at the nearest police station) and exchange contact details (Driver licence, insurance details, license plate) with the other driver.
The renter must also take detailed photos of the collision and record the date, time and location of the collision.
If the RV is still drivable, the renter can then continue their trip, and at the end of the booking, upon the return of the RV, the owner must open a claim on the website or app.
If the RV is not drivable, the renter will need to have it towed to the nearest garage. At that point, the trip will be interrupted, and a claim must be opened on the website or app. The renter will have to take detailed photos of the state of the RV before leaving it at the garage.
If at any point throughout this process help is needed, please call us at 1-855-697 8399.
Note that for 3rd party damages in the US, the renter might need to pay 2 deductibles; on for the RV damages and one for the 3rd party damages if it is established that the renter was at fault.
