What is the security deposit and how does it work? Updated June 13, 2023 14:45 The security deposit is an amount set by the host for every rental. As a guest, the security deposit will appear as an authorized transaction on your credit card three days before the start of your trip. RVezy will place a hold (authorization) on the security deposit amount for up to 30 days. Once the 30 days have passed, OR, the booking has been completed and closed out the hold will be cancelled. At this time, the funds will be released and the transaction will be removed from your bank statement. The security deposit will only be collected in the event of a damage claim. In the event of any damages or additional fees requested by the host after the trip, your security deposit will be captured. Any charges will be deducted from your security deposit and the remaining balance will be refunded. If there are fees requested after the 30-day period has passed and the hold on the funds were released, those charges will be applied directly to the card on file.In the event of a dispute or an insurance claim, the security deposit amount will be captured by RVezy and held until the dispute or claim has been resolved. Please refer to section 7.4 of the terms of service for more details.
