    How does it work?

Once your insurance application has been approved, every rental you have on RVezy will be covered by this policy. This coverage is mandatory for the guest, meaning they cannot remove it. It also applies automatically to make the process as worry-free as possible.

Note that you should still have your own personal insurance policy to cover your RV while it's in your possession. As soon as your RV is on a rental, our commercial coverage will take over and protect your RV for the duration of the rental only.

  • What is RVezy's policy regarding Burning Man bookings?

Burning Man is an annual festival held in the Black Rock Desert in Nevada, where tens of thousands of participants gather to create and experience Black Rock City, a temporary metropolis formed by art, self-reliance, and radical inclusion.

While this event brings together a global community of free spirits and creative minds, it's important to note that RVezy's insurance and roadside assistance does not cover RV rentals heading to the Burning Man festival. This article will explain why we have this policy in place, and what you need to know if you plan to attend the festival.

Why is Burning Man not covered by RVezy’s insurance?

Due to the unique environmental challenges and conditions at Burning Man, attending the festival puts RVs at higher risk compared to standard rental use. The following conditions make Burning Man a special case:

    1. Dust storms: The fine alkaline dust in the Black Rock Desert, called "playa dust", can cause severe damage to the mechanical and electronic components of an RV, which can lead to costly repairs.
    2. High temperatures: The intense desert heat can cause overheating, increased pressure on the RV's cooling system, and damage to the interior and exterior components.
    3. Lack of water and services: The absence of on-site water sources and the remote location make it difficult to clean and maintain RVs, increasing the risk of malfunction and damage.
    4. Increased wear and tear: The high number of participants and the lack of on-site services contribute to a faster rate of deterioration of RVs during the festival.
    5. Remote location: The Black Rock Desert is a remote location with limited roads and services. making roadside assistance difficult and time-consuming.

How does this policy affect RVezy guests and hosts?

RVezy does not allow rentals heading to the Burning Man festival. Any booking identified to be attending the festival will be cancelled by RVezy.

  • What happens if a guest gets in an accident or the RV sustains damages? (Roadside Incident)

If you get in an accident while on your RV trip, you should first make sure that everyone involved is okay. You should then contact the host to notify them of the situation.

Based on the type of collision, you may need to file a police report at the nearest police station and exchange contact information (driver's license number, name, phone number, etc.) with the third party involved. Detailed photos of the collision should be taken, and the date, time, and location of the incident should also be recorded.

If the RV is still drivable, you can continue with your trip. Once you've returned the RV to the host, you can complete the return inspection together, documenting the damages incurred. The host will then have to open an insurance claim on the booking.

    If the RV is not drivable;

    • Please call Access Roadside at 1-866-227-2213 and provide them with your booking number. You will also have to show them your roadside assistance certificate when they arrive at your location. Roadside is available 24/7 and is valid across Canada and the United States. The unit will need to be towed to the nearest garage, and the condition of the unit documented.
    • Remain with the vehicle under repairs are complete. You should notify RVezy and the host before leaving the RV at the nearest garage or making any repairs. It is prohibited to leave/abandon the RV without the express permission of your host and RVezy.
    • Guest are not permitted to complete their own repairs. To qualify for insurance coverage and/or applicable reimbursements, guests must contact Access Roadside to report an incident and find repair services.

At this point, your trip will be interrupted, and the host will need to open an insurance claim on the booking. A refund for trip interruption will only be available to guests who have selected the premium protection plan.

As a guest, while the RV is in your care, custody, and control, you will be responsible for damage charges up to the deductible in the event of an insurance claim.

If you require urgent help at any time, please call us at 1 (855) 697-8399.

  • What happens to the guest's security deposit when a claim is opened?

Whenever a claim is opened on a booking, either by the host or by the guest, the guest's security deposit is charged and held until the case is resolved. The claim resolution process may require an additional charge to the guest, which would be deducted from their security deposit, and additional charges may be collected above and beyond the security deposit. For this reason, the security deposit is held for the duration of the claim process until its final resolution.

  • What happens if the rental agreement or inspection were not completed?

The rental agreement as well as the departure and return inspections are mandatory and must be completed for every rental. Failure to complete one or both of these steps may result in any dispute or claim arising from the rental being denied.

    Rental agreement

RVezy's rental agreement is a mandatory contract to be completed that is intended to simplify the rental process by making the host and the guest's responsibilities as clear as possible.

This agreement must be signed and completed by both parties before the start of the trip. If it is not completed, the departure inspection will not be made available on the RVezy app.

    Departure and return inspections

As part of the rental process, RVezy provides a digital inspection form that must be completed on the RVezy app at the start and end of the trip by both the host and the guest. This step is mandatory as per section 3.5 of our terms of service

During the inspection, both parties will have to document the condition of the RV before and after the trip. If a dispute or insurance claim is opened on the booking, these inspections are then used as supporting evidence to assist the process.

Please note that it is the responsibility of both the host and guest to provide the time and date stamped evidence of the departure and return condition of the RV in case these are requested during a dispute or insurance claim.
