  • How to handle an accident or a roadside incident

If an accident occurs during your RV rental, ensure everyone's safety and notify the host immediately. Exchange information with other parties, document the incident, and file a police report if needed. If drivable, continue the trip and complete a damage inspection; if not, call Access Roadside for towing. Trip interruption refunds may apply based on your protection plan. Guests are responsible for damages up to their deductible. Contact RVezy for support during business hours.

If an accident or roadside incident occurs during your RV rental, follow these steps to manage the situation efficiently and ensure everyone's safety and security.

    Immediate steps

First, make sure everyone involved is okay. Inform the host about the incident as soon as possible so they're aware and can guide you through the next steps.

    Documentation and reporting

If other parties are involved, exchange contact information, and consider filing a police report based on the accident type (such as a collision). Take detailed photos and record the date, time, and location of the incident.

    RV condition and trip continuation

If the RV can be driven, continue your trip and complete the return inspection with the host to document any damages. The host can then initiate an insurance claim if needed.

If the RV cannot be driven, call Access Roadside at 1 (866) 227-2213 with your booking number so they can arrange to have the RV towed to the nearest garage. You should remain at the garage until repairs are completed. Do not leave the RV at the garage without written authorization from the host and RVezy.

    Trip interruptions and refunds

If you're unable to continue with your trip following the incident, you may be eligible for a trip interruption refund depending on your selected protection plan.

    Guest responsibilities

As a guest, you are responsible for damages up to your selected deductible in the event of an insurance claim.

You can contact RVezy at 1 (855) 697-8399 for immediate support during our business hours.

  • Understanding RV's roadside assistance

RVezy offers roadside assistance through Access Roadside, varying by protection plan. Coverage applies only if the RV is inoperable, excluding flat tires beyond one replacement, windshield repairs, and extra accommodations. Guests must contact the host first, then Access Roadside if needed. Repair costs depend on the breakdown cause, with hosts covering mechanical failures and guests responsible for damage they cause. No upfront payment is required for covered services, but accommodations are at the guest’s expense.

RVezy offers comprehensive roadside assistance as part of our protection plans, ensuring peace of mind during your RV rental.

    Coverage and exclusions

Roadside assistance coverage varies based on the protection plan selected by the guest. Coverage is provided by RVezy's roadside assistance partner, Access Roadside. Service timeline may vary depending on the guest's location and availability of service providers in the area.

RVezy's roadside assistance will not cover any incident where the RV is still drivable. The coverage only applies when the RV is stranded and deemed inoperable. If the RV is still drivable, the guest can continue with their trip and document any issues or damages with the host upon return.

If Access Roadside determines the requested service is not covered under the guest's protection plan, the service can still be rendered at the guest's expense.

Please be aware of the coverage exceptions in the following scenarios:

    • Flat tires: Roadside assistance covers the cost of one replacement tire up to the amount set in the selected protection plan. Certain plans do not cover tire replacement.
    • Windshields: Roadside assistance does not cover windshield fixes or repairs.
    • Accommodation or cab fare over the amounts outlined in the protection plan is not covered by roadside assistance. Alternative arrangements that are not included in the roadside assistance coverage will also not be covered, such as trains, U-hauls, rental cars, etc.
    • Prohibited travel areas: Roadside assistance coverage is void if the guest is travelling in any of the prohibited travel areas when the roadside incident occurs.

    Procedure for RV breakdown

    For guests

    1. Ensure the RV and anyone involved is off the road and in a safe location.
    2. Contact the host to report the issue and potentially receive troubleshooting support.
    3. If the host is unable to assist, call Access Roadside at 1 (866) 227-2213.
    4. Remain with the RV until repairs are completed. Do not leave the RV at the garage without written authorization from the host and RVezy.

    For hosts

    1. Attempt to troubleshoot with the guest, as some breakdowns may result from user error.
    2. If troubleshooting is unsuccessful, instruct the guest to contact Access Roadside at 1 (866) 227-2213.
    3. Maintain open communication with the guest to stay informed of the situation and provide any necessary support.

    Repairs and reimbursement

Responsibility for repair costs depends on the cause of the breakdown:

    • If the breakdown is due to mechanical failure or wear and tear:
      • The host is responsible for repair costs and retrieving the RV.
      • The guest will be responsible for their own transportation to return home.
      • The guest is entitled to a refund of unused nights caused by the breakdown in accordance with section 3.5 of our terms of service.
    • If the breakdown is caused by the guest's action:
      • The guest is responsible for repair costs and any expenses for the host to retrieve the RV.
      • The guest will be responsible for their own transportation to return home.
      • There is no compensation for trip interruption, unless the premium protection plan was selected by the guest.

The garage will determine the cause of the breakdown and provide a report after inspection. Guests should keep RVezy and the host informed about next steps.

    Payment for services

Guests will never be required to provide payment upfront for services covered by their protection plan and provided by Access Roadside. Depending on the protection plan selected, guests may be contacted by RVezy at a later date to discuss their financial responsibility for certain costs.

Arrangements for accommodations, such as hotels, taxis, and meals, will be at the guest's expense. Receipts can be submitted to roadside@rvezy.com to be reviewed for potential reimbursement in accordance with the selected protection plan.

  • Insurance coverage validity

RVezy’s insurance covers RV trips within Canada and the US, excluding Mexico and certain prohibited areas like Death Valley, Burning Man, and remote roads in Alaska and Canada. Travel to Yukon, Northwest Territories, Nunavut, and Alaska requires authorization. RV rentals for Burning Man are prohibited due to environmental risks and lack of services, with bookings for the festival canceled by RVezy.

RVezy’s insurance coverage is tailored to support RV adventures throughout Canada and the United States, with specific geographical limitations you should be aware of. This guide explains the coverage areas, exceptions, and key considerations to ensure a seamless rental experience.

    Insurance validity

RVezy provides comprehensive insurance coverage for trips within Canada and the United States. If you’re crossing the US-Canada border, notify the RV host and ensure all required documents are in the RV. It’s important to note that travel to Mexico is not covered under RVezy’s commercial insurance.

    Prohibited travel areas

Certain areas are excluded from RVezy’s coverage, and entering these regions means only the minimum state or provincial liability coverage is provided. RVezy’s roadside assistance also does not cover breakdowns occurring in these areas. Guests are responsible for any damages, cleaning, or repair, including any RV recovery costs, from travel within these prohibited areas.

    Generally:

    • Mexico
    • Logging and non-public roads
    • Inaccessible areas

    United States:

    • California: Death Valley
    • Nevada: Burning Man Festival
    • Alaska: Denali Highway, Dalton Highway (Hwy 11) between Coldfoot and Prudhoe Bay, McCarthy Road
    • between Chitina and McCarthy

    Canada:

    • Yukon: North Canol Highway
    • British Columbia: Aishihik Lake Road between Dease Lake and Telegraph Creek

    Restricted travel areas

Authorization is required from RVezy to travel into theYukon, Northwest Territories, Nunavut, and Alaska. If departing from British Columbia with an RV insured via ICBC, only host approval is necessary to enter the Yukon.

    Burning Man policy

Due to the unique environmental challenges and conditions at Burning Man, attending the festival puts RVs at higher risk compared to standard rental use. The following conditions make Burning Man a special case:

    • Dust storms: The fine alkaline dust in the Black Rock Desert, called "playa dust", can cause severe damage to the mechanical and electronic components of an RV, which can lead to costly repairs.
    • High temperatures: The intense desert heat can cause overheating, increased pressure on the RV's cooling system, and damage to the interior and exterior components.
    • Lack of water and services: The absence of on-site water sources and the remote location make it difficult to clean and maintain RVs, increasing the risk of malfunction and damage.
    • Increased wear and tear: The high number of participants and the lack of on-site services contribute to a faster rate of deterioration of RVs during the festival.
    • Remote location: The Black Rock Desert is a remote location with limited roads and services. making roadside assistance difficult and time-consuming.

RVezy does not allow rentals heading to the Burning Man festival. Any booking identified to be attending the festival will be cancelled by RVezy.

    Valid insurance coverage

RVezy’s insurance and roadside assistance cover rentals both in Canada and the United States, excluding restricted and prohibited travel areas. This means guests can generally cross the border without losing coverage. However, traveling into Mexico is prohibited, as insurance and roadside assistance do not extend to that region.

You can find the booking voucher and roadside assistance certificate in your booking documents. The host should provide the RVezy insurance certificate and RV registration.

    Host responsibilities

As an RV host, make sure:

    • Itinerary awareness: You’re informed and comfortable with the guest’s travel plans.
