    Getting started

Creating a listing on RVezy is straightforward. Here's how you can effectively showcase your RV rental:

    1. Sign up or log in: If you're new to RVezy, sign up and create an account. Existing users can simply log in to access their account.
    2. Navigate to "List an RV": Click on "List an RV" once logged in.
    3. Enter RV details: Provide comprehensive information about your RV, including:
      1. Model and year: Specify the make and model alongside manufacturing year to attract guests seeking particular vehicles.
      2. Features and amenities: Detailed listings include all the amenities your RV offers, like WiFi, solar panels, kitchen facilities, or air conditioning.
      3. High-quality photos: Upload a variety of photos showcasing different angles and aspects of your RV. Interior shots can highlight space and comfort, while exterior shots display its overall condition.
    4. Set competitive pricing: Analyze similar listings in your area to set a competitive rental price. Consider factors like RV size, features, and market demand.
    5. Update availability: Keep your calendar up-to-date with available dates. Clear availability will enhance your chances of receiving bookings and helps you get started on the right foot.

Make sure to verify your account so your listing can be published and visible to guests.

    Navigating listing restrictions

Before you finalize your listing, it's crucial to understand specific restrictions.

    Accepted RV types

You can list any of the RV types below:

    • Motorhomes:
      • Class A, B, and C
      • Camper van
      • Truck camper (must be mounted on a vehicle)
    • Trailers:
      • Travel trailer
      • Fifth wheel
      • Tent trailer
      • Hybrid trailer
      • Toy hauler
      • Micro trailer
    • RV cottages (stationary RVs that cannot be moved by guests)

  • What to expect after listing your RV

Now that you've finished listing your RV, it's time to prepare for your first rental. Here's a step-by-step guide on what to do next.

    Finalizing your account setup

    1. Complete your insurance profile: Qualify for RVezy's commercial insurance coverage by providing some basic information about you and your RV. Make sure to have your vehicle registration handy for a smooth process.
    2. Set up your payout account: Provide your banking information for direct deposit and prevent delays with your rental payouts.

    Receiving an onboarding call

Within a day or two of completing your RV listing, you'll receive a phone call from one of our Account Managers. This is your chance to learn best hosting practices and ask any questions about renting on the platform.

    Updating your calendar

Your RV calendar is key to efficiently managing booking requests. Set your availability by blocking dates and utilizing the calendar settings.

    Receiving booking requests

Once your listing is complete, it won't be long before you receive your first booking request. Consider using message templates to save time and communicate more efficiently. Once you accept a booking request, the guest will be able to secure the booking by making a payment. Keep in mind that nothing is confirmed until a guest makes a payment, so keep the dates open in your calendar. They'll be blocked automatically when payment is received.

    Managing your hosting performance

To help create a welcoming and reliable environment for guests, we expect hosts to exhibit certain behaviours which we measure through your hosting performance. This includes responding to new messages in a timely manner and accepting booking requests whenever your RV is available. Visit the Insights page in your RVezy account to keep track of your performance.

Exploring these steps will help you provide a seamless and enjoyable rental experience for your guests. By staying proactive and attentive, your hosting journey can be both smooth and rewarding. Enjoy sharing your RV adventures!

  • How to set your rental pricing

This guide helps RV hosts optimize pricing strategies, covering nightly rates based on RV age, location, and amenities. It explains smart pricing, custom date pricing, discounts, security deposits, preparation fees, mileage and generator usage policies, delivery options with setup and pickup services, and add-ons to enhance guest experience and increase income. Hosts retain full pricing control with support available.

As a host, you're always in charge of your prices, and you can change them at any time. This article serves as a guide to suggest pricing strategies and help you enhance your rental offerings.

    Nightly price

When deciding your base nightly price, take into account the following factors:

    • RV age and model: Newer models or those with unique features can often command higher prices.
    • Location: Rental prices may vary based on your geographic location and demand. Take some time and research similar RVs in your area to help gauge market rate.
    • Amenities: Additional features can also justify a higher price.

    Smart pricing

To maximize your earnings, you can opt in to smart pricing. This feature will automatically adjust your nightly rate in real time to meet demand patterns and market conditions. The adjustment will never fall below your base nightly rate; it'll only go up.

    Customizing your pricing

Your RV calendar allows you to set custom pricing for specific dates or date ranges. This is especially useful for busy holiday weekends or off-season months.

    Discounts

By offering midweek, weekly, and monthly discounts, you can increase the demand for your RV and keep your calendar full.

    • Midweek discount: Applies to any booking starting occurring Monday through Friday within the same week. If a guest adds a Friday, or Sunday night, the discount won't apply.
    • Weekly discount: Applies to bookings for 7 nights or more.
    • Monthly discount: Applies to bookings for 28 nights or more.

    Security deposit

The security deposit is intended for post-booking charges such as minor damage, mileage overages, and late fees. This amount is also the maximum that can be claimed for interior damage. A higher security deposit means more protection, but you should also be cautious about driving away potential guests. We recommend setting your security deposit to $1,000.

    Preparation fee

Intended to compensate you for the time spent prepping your RV for guests, the preparation fee is automatically applied to every booking. Guests are still expected to return the RV in the same condition then when they received it.

    Mileage allowance

If you list a motorhome, you can offer unlimited mileage or you can charge for the distance travelled during rentals by setting a mileage allowance. Note that this is not available for trailers.

To set a mileage allowance, select your daily included mileage and a fee for any additional distance travelled beyond that limit. Keep in mind that the mileage allowance is calculated by the day, not by the night. With an allowance of 100 km/day and a 3-night rental, this means the guest can drive 400 km for free.

Mileage overages are not automatically calculated or charged. Hosts must rely on the odometer readings submitted in their inspections and use the Request Money feature to charge for overages.

    Generator usage

If your amenities include an onboard generator, you can offer unlimited usage or you can charge for the hours used by setting a generator usage allowance.

To set an allowance, select your daily hours included and a fee for any additional hours used beyond that limit. Keep in mind that generator usage is calculated by the day, not by the night. With an allowance of 4 free hours per day and a 3-night rental, this means the guest can use 16 hours for free.

Generator overages are not automatically calculated or charged. Hosts must rely on the generator hours submitted in their inspections and use the Request Money feature to charge for overages.

    Delivery

Offering delivery can increase your potential guest pool by 40% and maximize bookings by allowing guests who are not experienced with towing to enjoy their trip worry-free.

To offer delivery, set the following parameters:

    • Maximum delivery distance (one-way): Set the maximum distance you're willing to deliver your RV.
    • Price per km/mile: Select a rate to charge for delivery based on the one-way distance from your location to the guest's destination.
    • Minimum delivery fee: Establish a baseline fee for delivery, ensuring you're fairly compensated even for short distances. Guests will pay the higher of the two: your minimum delivery fee or your price per km/mile.

    Delivery expectations

If you choose to offer delivery, the following services are included in the delivery fee:

    • RV set up at the destination
      • Levelling/stabilizing the unit and connecting to power, water, and sewer (where available)
      • Setting up basic campsite equipment that comes with the RV (e.g., awning, outdoor mat, included camping chairs, if applicable)Guest walkthrough of the RV
    • Guest walkthrough/orientation of the RV
      • How to use key systems (electrical, water, propane, appliances, slides, awning, etc.)
      • House rules, dos and don’ts, safety information, and any important quirks specific to your RV
    • Tear down and pick-up at the end of the trip
      • Disconnecting utilities and bringing in slides and awnings
      • Preparing the RV for towing or driving away

    Add-ons

As a host, you can offer various extras and additional services beyond your standard rental fee by selecting and customizing add-ons in your listing. This allows you to create personalized offerings for your RV, which enhances the guest experience and increases your rental income. Choose from some of the preset add-ons, such as portable BBQ, fuel refill prepayment, and bedding & linens, or create up to 10 custom add-ons.

To help you set the right price:

    • Review other RV listings in your area for comparable offerings
    • Consider the time it will take to complete the service or prepare the add-on
    • Consider the replacement cost of the item
    • Adopt the guest's perspective to assess the value of the service or item

Add-ons can be selected by guests when sending a booking request or included by editing the booking after payment is made. Alternatively, you can use the special offer feature to select add-ons and customize their price.

  • Setting rental rules

Setting clear rental rules for your RV helps guests understand expectations and reduces unnecessary questions. You can specify requirements like driving or towing experience, permission for festivals or events, crossing the US-Canada border, pet allowance, smoking policies, and calendar availability. These rules ensure safety, clarify conditions, and streamline booking.

Setting clear rental rules helps guests understand your expectations before they send a booking request. These rules simplify communication, reduce back-and-forth questions, and ensure you receive requests that match your requirements. You can choose the rules that fit your RV and your hosting style.

    Driving or towing experience

If you rent out a motorhome, you can require guests to have experience driving a vehicle of similar length. This helps ensure they feel confident behind the wheel and can safely manage the RV’s size.

For trailers, you can specify that guests must have towing experience with a trailer of the same or similar length. This requirement reduces safety concerns and ensures guests are prepared for towing responsibilities.

    Allowing festivals and events

You can decide whether guests may bring your RV to festivals or large events. Choose from Yes, No, or Negotiable depending on your comfort level. This gives guests clarity before planning their trip.

If your rule is set to Negotiable and a guest indicates they're attending a festival or event when requesting to book your RV, they'll be asked to input the name of the festival or event. If your rule is set to No, the guest will not be able to proceed with requesting to book your RV.

    Crossing the US-Canada border

You can specify whether your RV can be taken across the border. This helps guests understand any insurance or logistical limitations related to international travel. You can consult this article on crossing the US-Canada border for more information.

    Pets allowed

If your RV is pet-friendly, you can indicate it directly in your rules. Guests travelling with animals will appreciate knowing this upfront, while guests without pets can also understand whether the RV typically allows them.

    Smoking allowed

You can choose whether smoking is permitted inside the RV. Setting this clearly helps maintain your RV’s condition and communicates expectations for cleanliness.

    Calendar availability

Your availability is part of your rental rules too. You can update detailed scheduling preferences by selecting the Go to calendar button, which will redirect you to your calendar for full control over dates, minimum nights, and more.

  • Removing your RV listing

RVezy offers two options for removing your RV listing: unpublishing, a temporary measure that hides your listing but keeps it accessible, and deleting, which permanently removes your listing and data. Unpublishing declines pending requests but keeps confirmed bookings, while deleting cancels all bookings and cannot be undone. Access listings via the app or website to edit or delete.

If you're considering stepping back from renting out your RV on RVezy, it's important to know your options for removing your listing. Whether you simply need a break or have decided to permanently stop renting, RVezy provides flexible options to suit your needs.

    Unpublishing your RV

Unpublishing is a temporary measure that hides your RV from search results but keeps your listing accessible for future use.

    1. Access your listings: Click on More > My listings on the RVezy app, or select Listings from the navigation menu on the RVezy website.
    2. Edit your listing: Click on Edit listing and switch the toggle under your listing name.
    3. Select a reason: Choose a reason for unpublishing from the drop-down menu.

Once your listing is unpublished, all pending booking requests will be declined. Keep in mind that confirmed bookings will remain, so you'll need to manually cancel them if you can no longer honour them.

    Deleting your RV listing

Deleting is a permanent action that removes your listing and all associated data.

    1. Access your listings: Click on More > My listings on the RVezy app, or select Listings from the navigation menu on the RVezy website.
    2. Edit your listing: Click on Edit listing and scroll to the bottom, then click on Delete RV.
    3. Select a reason: Choose a reason for deleting from the drop-down menu.
